At Hope City, we practice believer’s baptism by full immersion for those who are able to understand and personally respond to the call of Jesus. Because baptism follows a personal decision of faith, we do not baptize infants or very young children, and we approach baptism for younger children with prayerful discernment alongside parents and church leadership. At Hope City, we believe baptism is a vital step of faith in the life of every believer and an essential part of discipleship and spiritual growth. Because baptism is meant to be lived out within the context of ongoing community, accountability, and formation, we baptize those who are actively connected to Hope City or who desire to commit to becoming part of this church family and continuing in discipleship.
